About The Author
Laurie Britt Toro has spent her life nurturing creativity, beauty, and a deep love for animals. For decades, she channeled her artistic eye into floral design, managing flower shops before opening her own business in 1987.
A true master of her craft, Laurie was selected as one of just nine designers in the United States to create floral arrangements for the NFL Super Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana. Now retired from full-time floral work, she devotes more time to writing, crafting, sewing, quilting, painting, calligraphy, and floral projects for longtime customers.
Her connection to dogs began in childhood, growing up alongside a kennel of Siberian Huskies and traveling to dog shows with her father, who trained American and Canadian Kennel Club champions.
Laurie and her husband recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. They raised two sons and are proud grandparents of two grandchildren. Her husband, originally from Venezuela and a United States citizen since 2016, gave Papasito his Spanish name, meaning "the little man of the house."
